We said it before and we stand by it now more than ever, mixing metals is a chic look. In fact trend experts have deemed silver and gold the perfect pair.
Gold is the ultimately luxurious look when worn on its own, glistening and demanding attention. Meanwhile, silver is more of a sophisticated and understated metal that is easier to style and preferred by those who want to fly under the radar with their accessories. What you may not know though is that by combining the two together, you create a beautiful, head turning mix of elements that complement each other and you.
How to style silver and gold
The perfect starting point is one piece of gold to one piece of silver. Whether you’re stacking rings or layering necklaces, it’s a simple and non-overwhelming strategy to give your look a little point of difference. One of our favourite edgier looks is mixing a pendant with a different coloured chain - a chunkier gold pendant like one from our Alpha collection, with a dainty silver chain is a very 90’s and trending look we cannot get enough of.
We get that you might get excited and want to start stacking and layering everything you’ve got, but let us advise otherwise. It’s best to choose one are to mix and layer. For example, if you’re layering necklaces, it’s not ideal to put too many earrings in.
Stick to similar styles
If you want to avoid the excessive look and looking too messy, choose pieces with similar themes, sizes and designs. Layer the necklaces on top of one another from longest to shorter (you can check out our neck mess guide here) If you have one chunky piece, make sure the others are daintier. Don’t be afraid to let them overlap as that displays the lovely contrast. If you’re stacking rings, keep them similar sized. This helps to achieve the understated yet trending look.
Most importantly, have fun with it. Wearing silver and gold together creates a classic look and all fashionistas know it’s the ultimate trend. Don't forget to tag us @_bianko to show us how you rock your mixed Metals
