The Neckline Edit

Waist-up glam is having a huge revival in the Zoom era, and that is a big win for jewellery lovers. Drawing attention to the face and creating a sort of halo effect with your neckline choices is the trend we will be seeing this coming Spring.

We’ve seen necklace layers trending for a little while now, both staggered pendants and multiple layers, but please let us introduce you to the trending #neckmess -  This more-is-more trend is having its moment and it doesn’t plan on stopping.

Now if you’re not too keen on clasping on every necklace you own and leaving the house, we totally understand you. After all this trend is all about personalisation and your preferences. Anything from 2 or 3 gold chains could do the trick. Or you can mix a strand of pearls with two small chains and a pendant. Really, the options for a neck mess are endless, and we’re here to help you create yours.

Ace Your Base

The most difficult part about nailing your neckline is figuring out which necklace to use as your base. So if you’re feeling stuck while perusing your collection, or ours, our best tip is to start with a mid-length chain, because from there you can go longer, or shorter and it works with every neckline. Our personal favourites are the Birthflower Necklace or the Y Shape Necklace.

Don’t confine yourself to a single metal

Not into an all-gold look? This is your opportunity to mix not only silver and gold, but gemstones of all types (yes we might be hinting at an upcoming collection). The great thing about a neck mess is the mess part, so don’t overthink it. A combination of metal tones adds a little extra character - which is exactly what you’re going for here.

Play with textures

If you like a cleaner look, stick to your colour / metal. If not, introduce some textures to add some intrigue. We love layering our pearl chokers for some stylish chaos. The mix of enamel and pearl is what draws your eye up and down this style that’s brimming with personality.

The most important thing to keep in mind is that it’s a trend that's supposed to reflect your mood and personality, so play around with and an don’t forget to show us your #neckmess by tagging @_bianko
